Research on fretting fatigue life of anisotropic materials

  • A fretting fatigue test apparatus was designed and manufactured for the fretting fatigue damage process test of the specimens of anisotropic materials DD3 and DZ125 superalloys contacted with pad of powder metallurgy superalloy FGH95.The fretting fatigue experiments were conducted with DD3 and DZ125 superalloys to demonstrate the capability of the fretting fatigue test apparatus.The fretting damage parameters were introduced and the quantitative research on the new fretting fatigue life prediction model of anisotropic material was carried out.The results confirm the validity of the life prediction model of anisotropic materials by comparing the predicted fretting fatigue life with the experimental life.And the errors are both within 2.8 times of dispersion band.
