MEASUREMENT OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL MEAN AND TURBULENT FLOW FIELD WITH A DOUBLE SLANTED HOT-WIRE PROBE

  • A method to improve the measurement of three-dimensional mean and turbulent flow field with a double slanted hot-wire probe is presented. A prominent feature of the method is that the coefficients of direction t and h are determined according to the directional characterisitics of the wires. Therefore, there is no need to measure the flow direction at each measuring point prior to the velocity measurement along this predetermined direction.
