Abstract

In this paper,two dimensional factors of life scatter and strength reduction are presented because of their extreme practical importance throughout life prediction and fatigue strength design.The factors can make full use of previous data and reduce the number of specimens in the present experiment.The safe life and safe strength obtained by them are more accurate than those by the traditional (one dimensional) life scatter factor and strength reduction factor.They are applicable to the complete,the incomplete and the zero failure data.
