The damage tolerance of an experimental disk is analyzed in the light of fracture mechanics.The relation of crack tip parameter and crack length, a ,is determined by combination of the FEM and the J-integral method.The critical crack size a

IC .Then the crack propagation life of the disk is determined.The calculated results are consistent with the experimental data.Therefore,the present method as well as the computer program can be used for strength evaluation of a turbine disk.
