EFFECTS OF GEOMETRIC PARAMETERS OF SUBMERGED DELTA VORTEX GENERATOR ON VORTEX

  • The effects of the geometric variables of a submerged deltaic vortex generator on the parameters of the vortex have been experimentally studied and a type of half deltaic vortex generator has been developed.A small-size five-hole pressure probe was used to measure the velocity profiles at several transverse sections behind the vortex generators and according to the velocity profiles,the Gauss model of vortex core and quasi-Newton non-linear least square method were used to determine the parameters of single vortex such as vorticity,radius and height of the vortex core.The variation of these vortex parameters along the stream wise was analysed.In the experimental investigation the vortex parameters between the submerged deltaic vortex generator and the submerged concave vortex generator were also compared.
