An Investigation of Distortion Simulator for Inlet Flow Field

  • A new technique of distortion simulation for inlet flow was put forward.A device designed by using this technique includes a tablet simulator and a turbulence generator.The former consists of two thin tablets which can change the uneven total pressure of the flow to simulate steady distortion.The latter is a changeable turbulence ring,which can generate the turbulence of the flow.The experimental investigation of the device reveals some variation rules of aerodynamic characteristics obtained by selecting geometric parameters and combination of the tablet simulator and the turbulence ring.It is of benefit to designing distortion device of the inlet flow field for inlet/engine compatibility.
