Numerical Simulation of Secondary Flow in Compressor Cascade

  • The numerical simulation has been carried out to investigate the secondary flow in compressor cascade.The method of the pseudo-compressibility was used and the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations were solved with Beam-warming's implicit approximate factorization algorithm and the MML turbulence model.It is shown that there are several vortices in the cascade under the given condition.In addition to the passage vortices,the horseshoe vortices,the corner vortices and the wall vortices induced by the strong separation in the corner of suction surface are found very close to the suction surface and become new vortex couples.The development and interaction of these vortices have a great influence on the energy loss.The agreement of calculated results with the experimental data is favorable.
