Development of Fan/Compressor Techniques and Suggestions on Further Researches

  • Fan/compressor is one of the key components of turbo jet engines.As higher performance is demanded by the engines with higher thrust/weight ratio,some new techniques appeared and were needed to be further studied.The development trend of fan/compressor is described.The main measures for improving performance,such as high blade speed,low aspect ratio,high through flow inlet stage,swept blade,splittered vane rotor,are discussed.Unsteady flow in fan/compressor not only affects its gasdynamic performance,but also reliability,since high cycle fatigue,stall and flutter will cause serious machine damage.CFD provides possibility of fast development of our fan/compressor techniques.Further researches are proposed in this paper.
