Thermodynamic Optimization of Convective Heat Transfer Through Cross-Flow over Single Tube

  • The first and second laws of thermodynamics,combined with the method of weighted mean value of outside fluid temperature,have been utilized to optimize the convective heat transfer of one tube cross-flow heat exchanger.The spatial distributions of the field of fluid temperature inside and outside the tube,irreversibility,and entropy generation rate profiles are presented.It is shown that the entropy genaration rate may be minimized through proper selection of some parameters of the system.
