Investigation of Fault Mechanism for Spinal Bevel Gear Sets of an Aeroengine

  • The spinal bevel gear is one of the key components in the accessory gear transmission system of aeroengine.By means of computing the modal properties,critical rotating speed,and stress levels,this paper investigated the fault mechanism of spinal bevel gears in various aspects of the vibration,strength,manufacture and material etc.The results indicate that the main reason of the failure is due to fatigue damage caused by the meshing forces between the gear teeth.
