The solid rocket motor (SRM) flexible joint is the main part of the flexible bearing nozzle that allows nozzle to deflect in any given direction for motor thrust vector control.It consists of elastomer rings,reinforcement rings,front and rear flanges which are concentric spherical sections bonded.The finite element method is used to analyze the strength of flexible joint under tensile load.The stress field of flexible joint under 05 MPa distributing tensile load is acquired.Because the maximal tensile stress and layer shear stress at the interface between elastomers and reinforcement rings are 234 MPa and 028 MPa respectively,thus the strength of bonded interface can satisfy the design need.
