Unlike widely used turbulence models, the GAO-YONG model equations use no empirical coefficients or wall functions. And series form of energy equation corresponds to the scales of nonlinearity. In this paper, two-dimensional, incompressible turbulent boundary layer with zero pressure gradient is numerically simulated with GAO-YONG turbulence model. Employing staggered grid arrangement,an incompressible SIMPLE code is used. The calculation successfully simulates the coherent structures in the turbulent boundary layer and the effect of the order of the energy equation and grid scales on the coherent structures. All the results verify the adaptability of the equations to real intermittent turbulent flow.
