Abstract

Abstract

The performance of a diesel engine with Dimethyl Ether (DME) Diesel mixed fuel was experimentally studied in this paper.Tests were conducted under the principle of minimum engine alteration.Results show that the exhaust emission is much lower with the mixed fuel while the output power of the engine could be kept little changed with the choice of different mixing ratios.Dimethyl Ether is proved to be very promising as an alternative fuel for diesel engines.
