Application of Metal-Rubber Damper to the Rotor System

Metal Rubber (MR) is a new damper material,and it offers elasticity of rubber.Theoretical and experimental investigation of hydro turbopump rotor system showed that MR has special advantages as a combined bearing.It can reduce vibration effectively.From the data of tests conducted at the rotating speed very near the first critical rotating speed,it can be seen that the vibration level of rotator with MR damper as its bearing system is reduced by 90%.Other advantages of the MR damper are its easy making craft and good installation conditions.
