The elliptic-type conditional moment closure model is implemented to simulate nonpremixed turbulent bluff-body burner flames. The fuels are CH
4/H
2,CO/H
2 and CH
3OH.The k-ε turbulent model and SIMPLE method are employed in the computation. Results of average flow characteristics, conditional averaged temperature,OH,CO and NO concentrations are obtained.Reasonable agreement between experiments and predictions shows that the CMC model is capable of predicting the species concentration and temperature in turbulent nonpremixed combustion.Discrepancy on the rich side may partly be due to the singly conditional moment closure,or lack of adequate chemical kinetics on the rich side.
