Theoretical and Experimental Research on Microwave Plasma Thruster With Coaxial Resonant Cavity

  • The system construction and resonance mode of 100 W power Microwave Plasma Thruster (MPT) With Coaxial Resonant Cavity are introduced.The Resonant Cavity is an important part in the MPT system in which the microwave energy is absorbed by the working gas.In this paper,the numerical simulation of the coupling between microwave energy and plasma flow under the resonant state was analyzed using a coupled Maxwell,Saha and Navier-Stokes solver and the performance of prototype was calculated.All results show that the system principles of 100 W MPT are feasible and the performance of prototype is good.
