Characteristic of Flow Resistance and Heat Transferin a Turnover Variable Cross-Section Channel with Different Rib Pitches

  • Experimental investigation of a turnover variable cross sectional area channel with transverse ribs of different pitch has been carried.Specimen used is the mid-span section of an actual aero-engine turbine blade.It is aimed at studying the flow resistance and heat transfer characteristics of the channel with different rib pitch to rib height ratios.The inlet Reynolds Number is ranged from 7 000 to 6 000.Experimental results show that with the increase of inlet Reynolds Number,the flow resistance coefficient decreases.The effect of rib pitch to rib height ratio on the averaged flow resistance coefficient and the averaged Nusselt numbers reveals a multiple peak distribution.
