Influence of α1 and α2 Modulation on the Engine Acceleration of a Turbofan Engine

  • Based on the acceleration model,the acceleration code for engine with variable geometry channels was developed using component matching technique.The delay or ahead of schedule of high pressure compressor variable guide vanes and low pressure compressor variable guide vanes modulation was studied.The results show that for the case of the channel modulation ahead of schedule,there will be a increase of thrust and high pressure compressor surge margin,and a decrease of low pressure compressor surge margin,and vice versa for the case of modulation delay of schedule.The influence brings about by high pressure compressor variable guide vanes is higher than that of low pressure compressor variable guide vanes.
