Two different subgrid-scale combustion models were used for the Large-Eddy Simulation (LES) of turbulent chemical reaction flows in a model combustor with V-gutter flame holder. The subgrid eddy viscosity was determined by using k-equation subgrid-scale (KSGS) model. To take into account the influence of heat radiation on wall temperature and gas temperature distributions, heat flux model was applied to predict heat flux distributions. The LES equations were solved with SIMPLE algorithm and hybrid scheme.Comparison of numerical results with experimental data shows that the two different subgrid-scale combustion models can all be used to simulate the combustion, but the G-equation flamelet model is better than the EBU subgrid combustion model. These results provide confidence that the LES may lead to a better understanding of the combustion process.
