Model-Assisted Pattern Search method (MAPS) was applied to the study of performance seeking control using an aircraft engine nonlinear component level model.MAPS algorithm is one of the direct search method,in which partial derivative doesn’t need to calculate.Kriging algorithm was used to construct a sequence of surrogate models in order to reduce the amount of calculations and increase speed of optimization. Then,MAPS algorithm was applied to three control modes separately, including minimum fuel flow mode, maximum thrust mode and afterburning maximum thrust mode.Calculation results are presented in this paper.
