Flamelet Modeling of a Pilot Methane/Air Jet Flame

  • A methane turbulent non-premixed flame has been simulated numerically by the combination of laminar flamelet model and presumed probability density function(PDF).Steady flamelet structure was obtained from laminar flamelet library.Using the detailed chemical kinetics mechanism,the oxidation of methane and the generation of PAH and NO were described.Compared to the experimental data,it is shown that the numerical results agree well with the experiment and indicate that flamelet model approach is able to predict the major properties of the turbulent non-premixed flame.
