Investigation on Pneumatic-Valve Pulse Detonation Engine with Partial Detonable Mixture Filling

Effects of partial detonable mixture filling proportion on detonation wave pressure properties of kerosene/air pneumatic-valve pulse detonation engine were investigated.A preliminary analysis of a series of wave's reciprocity was carried out.Experimental results show that with given double swirl and direct pneumaticvalve and detonation tube structure,the decrease of partial detonable mixture filling proportion causes a little decrease of the peak value of detonation waves' pressure,but impulse per unit volume of detonable mixture increases linearly.This investigation is important to the design optimization of the kerosene/air pneumatic-valve PDE,and to improve the performance of PDE.
