Investigation of disk LCF life prediction and its experimental verification

  • A simplified Walker strain model was presented to predict the disk Low Cycle Fatigue(LCF) life for unsymmetrical loads and the main life regions.The effect of number of life critical regions in each disk was taken into account in the life prediction.A series of axial strain-controlled LCF tests of GH4133 bar specimens were conducted.An experimental turbine disk was designed,and the high temperature LCF test of the rotor was carried out on the spin test rig.The result indicates that the disk LCF life prediction method is effective,and the accuracy of the life prediction is within the targeted scatter band of two compared to the turbine disk LCF test data.
