Numerical study of conical vortices space evolvement on a flat roof

  • Using the computational fluid dynamics software FLUENT,wind load and conical vortices of a building were simulated with the v2-f turbulence model and k-ε turbulence model.The wind angle of attack is 40° relative to the eave of the building.It shows that the v2-f turbulence model can give fairly good results compared to the experimental pressure data.With the increase of x,the sizes of the conical vortices on the flat roof increase firstly and then fall off when they arrive at the ackside of the building.Simultaneously conical vortices and the vortex shed from the lateral wall of the building have great interaction.Also it gets the immanence relation of the space evolvement,intensity and positions of the conical vortices on the flat roof.
