Frequency veering and mode shape interaction for rotating blades

  • By the results from direct finite element analyses,frequency veering and mode shape interaction of rotating blade are studied,especially emphasis is placed on the multi-mode frequency veering and shape interaction.Firstly the finite element model of a simple geometry blade is given and the mode shapes and natural frequencies of this simple blade are calculated as a function of rotational speed using the ANSYS finite element program.Then frequency veering and shape interaction for the multi-mode and two-mode of rotating blades are discussed respectively.It is shown that except for the frequency veering problem with two-mode coupling,the multi-mode frequency veering and mode shape interaction of rotating blade are more complicate and must be further researched deeply.
