Thrust correction on the test bench of pulse detonation engine under air-breathing condition

  • Influences of nozzle size and flow dynamic pressure at fan exit on test bench thrust value of pulse detonation engine were studied.Means of eliminating these influences were explored.The results show that the test bench thrust is on the low side due to the outer resistance of PDE.The outer resistance is managed to be removed by a force sustained shell installed outside of the inlet, thus true thrust is achieved.A thrust correction model was brought forward and validated by test.
