Numerical simulation of boundary layer transition under pressure gradient

  • Numerical simulation was performed for the flat plate boundary layer transition test at zero and non-zero pressure gradients,T3A,T3C1 and T3C2.The results have been validated through the experimental data,showing that the pressure gradient could have great influence upon the starting position of transition process;MLtransition model could predict accurately the transition and development process.However,the applicability of M-Lone-equation transition model is limited as compared with M-Ltwo-equation transition model,since it depends on how to correctly choose the transition onset momentum thickness Reynolds number by experiences.During calculation with M-Ltransition model,selecting the import viscosity based on the nature of vortex assists in predicting the transition process.
