Experiment of IR suppression for hot plume from turbofan engine with convection-radiation board

  • Convection-radiation board was employed to suppress the infrared radiation of hot plume from turbofan engine,while experimental research was conducted on the hot plume simulation test bench of turbofan engine.The temperature distribution of hot plume from a pure axisymmetric nozzle,and the spectral radiant intensities of hot plume in3~5 μm from a pure axisymmetric nozzle and 2Dnozzles were measured.The results show that convection-radiation board could reduce the temperature of plume core about 10%,and also suppress the infrared radiation of hot plume from turbofan engine about 20%30%.
