Numerical analyses of flow field and heat transfer in cavity of straight labyrinth seal at static state

  • In order to investigate the performance of straight sealing labyrinth at static state in aero engine,a model of straight sealing labyrinth was established and applied to compute the flow characteristics and heat transfer in the straight sealing labyrinth.With the result of numerical simulation,the effects of Reynolds numbers and T/Con flow field,pressure loss,and coefficient of heat transfer were studied.By comparing some group results of numerical simulation and experiments data,it is found that the numerical results are in agreement with experimental data and the error can be acceptable.The results show that the Reynolds number and T/Caffect the flow characteristics and heat transfer in the straight sealing labyrinth and thus are important factors in deciding the sealing performance of straight labyrinth.
