Significant impact of engine technical innovation on airplane performance advancement

The innovation of propulsion technology used to be and will be continuously to be the primary motive power to the advancement of air transportation.To develop large passenger plane,it is necessary to recognize the role played by the engine technical progress on the advancement of airplane performance.The new engine GEnx for Boeing dreamliner B787 developed by general electric aircraft engines(GEAE) was used as an example to analyze the impact of new engine technology on airplane efficiency,environment pollution,intelligent airplane,low cost and comfort of riding.At last,based on the experiences of technical development in foreign countries,some suggestions of the way to develop our engine technology were proposed.
