Effect of slot width on the aerodynamic performance of compressor cascade

  • The effect of slot width on aerodynamic performance of compressor cascade was studied numerically.The result shows that slot outlet jet on the suction surface can blow off the boundary layer flow on the trailing edge of blade;and all the flow control solutions using blade slot treatment,though of different slot widths,can enhance cascade performance.Corresponding to the maximum enhancement of cascade performance,an optimal slot width exists.As the slot width increases,jet flow and effect area are increased,but the flow loss at the slot outlet also increases.Therefore,the effect of jet is reduced and the performance of cascade with large slot width drops.
