State-of-the-art of ground-experiments of loop heat pipe

  • Loop heat pipe(LHP) is the most advanced heat-transfer device in the spacecraft thermal-control field,and dual compensation chamber LHP(DCC-LHP) has become hot spot in the aero and ground applications since it can work without the limit of the orientation between the evaporator and compensation chamber.In this paper,the state-of-the-art investigation on ground-experiments of LHPand DCC-LHPhad been analyzed;the visualized experiments' results had been summarized;due to the investigative deficiencies in some aspects of the heat-transfer mechanism and circulating behaviors in LHP,more visualized experiments should be carried out for the steady-state,transient performance and active thermal-control characteristics,and the visualized validation should be made to previous theories and assumptions.
