Numerical investigation on improvement of film cooling effectiveness with console hole

  • The film cooling characteristics of console hole were numerically investigated using the shear-stress transport two-equation turbulent model to understand the effects of blowing ratios on cooling effectiveness.The cooling effectiveness for three configurations of film cooling holes was also studied comparatively.Results show that the cooling effectiveness for console film cooling hole increases with the increment of the blowing ratio.Under the same blowing ratio,the cooling effectiveness of the console hole is better than cylindrical hole,and lower than slot.Under the condition of low blowing ratio,the film cooling effectiveness of console is equivalent to the slot.
