Thrust analysis and experimental study of the flexible wings of a flapping-wings aircraft

  • A method of calculating the aerodynamic force on the flexible wing of mini flapping-wings was presented based on the Euler equation and finite element analysis.And the experiment was conducted to measure the thrust of a prototype.The results prove that the calculation can reflect the character of thrust during a flapping period.This method can gain not only the thrust and the flapping drag on the whole wing,and also the force map on different flapping characters.This is useful for the optimization design of the flexible flapping-wings.
