The flow processes in contractive channel with three different water drop-shaped pin fin staggered arrays were studied numerically in the present paper,and the basic features of intensity distribution of vortexes in the arrays were obtained.Moreover,the influences of the vortexes on the pressure loss and heat transfer enhancement of the arrays were discussed in detail.Comparisons were made between the contractive and rectangular channels.It is found that the average Nusselt number of the endwall in the contractive channel is higher than that of the rectangular channel in the range of the Reynolds number,and the pressure loss coefficients of the contractive channel is 3 to 4.5 times as much as that of the rectangular channel at the same Reynolds number.
