An engineering method for predicting off-design performance of multistage axial compressors

  • An analytical model for simulating the component characteristics of axial flow fan and high-pressure compressors was established based on their geometry,high speed characteristic maps and design point aerodynamic parameters of the engines.A computer program was fulfilled and three numerical examples were given.Comparison between the computed results and experimental data shows that these models and methods are practicable,and could be used in the engineering applications.It is remarkable that the model and method can be used to predict low speed characteristics of axial compression system component during simulation of start-up process of turbofan or turbine jet engines.
