Experimental investigation on leakage characteristics of finger seal

  • Experimental investigation on leakage characteristics of baseline finger seal had been made.The results show that the flow factor of finger seal at initial static state is high and hysteresis is obvious.With the increase of usage time the flow factor decreases gradually and finally approaches to a steady state.Under this condition,the influence of clearance between fingers of finger seal on flow factor is great;with the increase of pressure drop the flow factor increases at first and gradually reaches to a constant level;the rotor speed has little affect on flow factor;and with the increase of the number of wafer the flow factor decrease.
