Power extraction method for acceleration and deceleration control law design of turbofan engine

  • A new and effective method——power extraction method(PEM),which is a simple,rapid and accurate tool of turbofan engine for acceleration and deceleration control law design,was proposed in this paper.Based on the steady-state performance computing model,the virtual power extractions of fan shaft and compressor shaft were introduced to make the steady-state operating points(line) move from normal operating points(line) at the constant corrected line of compressor,and the speeds of fan shaft and compressor shaft were maintained at given values.While taking into account the surge margin limit of compressor and fan,total temperature limit of turbine inlet and the flameout limit of combustor,an appropriate form was used to describe the acceleration and deceleration control law.In combination with the experiences of research and the development of turbine engines,the acceleration and deceleration control law of turbofan was designed rapidly and accurately.The computing results of the improved acceleration control law of some turbofan engine indicate that the VPEM is accurate and effective.
