Characterization of flame stabilization for V-gutter in centrifugal force field

  • Experimental and numerical studies were conducted to understand the characteristics of flame stabilization in centrifugal force field.A curving pipe was used for simulating the combustion in centrifugal force field and a numerical simulation was used for validating the experiment.The difference of combustion performance between curving pipe and straight pipe was also investigated.The investigation observes that the weak extinction performance in centrifugal force field is worse because the recirculation zone in the curving pipe is destroyed.It is also found that the weak extinction limit decreases with the increasing acceleration coefficient of centrifugal force.
