  • An experiment was conducted to study the flow control effects of the Gurney-flaps which were fixed on the trailing edge of the pressure surface of PAK-B low-pressure turbine blade. The experiment adopted different shapes of Gurney-flaps with different heights under various flow conditions. The experimental results show that Gurney-flaps can effectively reduce flow loss when PAK-B profile is stall. At Re=23 000,Ma=0.021,FSTI=1%,the loss coefficient of total pressure is reduced by about 29% and the flow turning angle is increased by about 3.12% when fixed round Gurney-flaps with H=1% chord length;meanwhile the inlet primary flow mass is reduced by about 5%;the Gurney-flaps can also delay boundary layer separation, reattach on blade profile suction side and diminish the wake zone, thus reducing the flow loss.
