In order to overcome the shortcoming of traditional one degree-of-freedom structure and improve the tracking performance while maintaining stability robustness, two degrees-of-freedom control structure was introduced in this paper, then the synthesis techniques based on linear matrix inequality(LMI) was introduced to solve the disadvantages of this controller as compared with the traditional Riccati approach. The two degrees-of-freedom H∞ loop-shaping approach was applied to a turbofan aero-engine,and the hardware in-the-loop simulation based on the real-time simulation platform was implemented. The simulation results show that the excellent robustness and command-tracking properties of the controller are obtained, and the two-degree-of-freedom H
∞ loop-shaping methodology is suitable for aero-engine control.
