The damping performance of metal rubber(MR) anti-shock isolator depends on the dry friction and elastic deformation that dissipates vibrating energy. An MR isolator was investigated to satisfy the need of shock isolation system of some aircrafts by the shock experiments. The results show that the maximal accelerator response and the shock isolation coefficient increase with the shock duration, while the shock isolation coefficient is affected by shock load.It is concluded that under smaller shock load, the shock isolation coefficient of MR isolator decreases with the increase of external load, however, when the load exceeds a certain value, the shock isolation coefficient increases with external load.
