Experimental investigation of a solid/arc slot asymmetrical combined casing treatment

  • This thesis experimentally investigated the solid/arc slot combined casing treatment on the transonic compressor test facility.Unlike traditional casing treatments,not only the stall margin of the compressor could be enlarged greatly by using the solid/arc slot combined casing treatment,the adiabatic efficiency could also be increased nearly 1%.The main reason for this phenomenon is that the combined casing treatment increases the flow mass of the tip region,prevents the flow separation,suspends the rotating stall;with the use of the asymmetrical combination in circumferential direction,the loss in the treatment slots is reduced,the income of the combined casing treatment is more than the loss,and the adiabatic efficiency is improved.
