Numerical study of low emissions for twin annular premixing swirler combustor

  • The influences of different combustor configuration and spray mode on two phase spray combustion flows and combustion performances of twin annular premixing swirler(TAPS) combustors were studied by using Fluent software.Standard k-ε model was applied to simulate the turbulent viscosity.The fuel droplet trajectories were modeled in Lagrangian frame of reference by using discrete phase model(DPM).Non-premixed combustion model was used to model turbulence-chemistry interaction.The results reveal that exit averaged temperature can be improved and exit pollutant emissions decrease greatly with the change of combustor configuration and spray mode,and the combustion performance of TAPS combustor exceeds conventional model combustor.
