Design and experimental research on 6 cm-diameters head-swirl micro-combustor

  • The concept of new form of combustor named as head-swirl micro-combustor was studied to improve the performance of the micro-combustor.The experiment on the ambient temperature and pressure was carried out,the resistance characteristic shows that the combustor couldn't get into modeling state.The characteristics of the limit blow-out show that,the head swirl takes great advantage in keeping the fire stabilization,and the loading parameter is more satisfactory than that without the head swirl,the combustion efficiency is 0.8 at most,the major reason to the low efficiency is attributed to the short residual time for gas to stay in the combustor.The structure of head-swirl is successfully used in the micro-combustor design.
