Investigation of drag reducing in three-dimensional sidewall inlet

  • Two sorts of three-dimensional sidewall inlets: standard inlet,and low drag inlet developed by taking some measures of decreasing drag in the standard inlet,had been investigated with methods of wind-tunnel experiments at Ma0 =5.3 and numerical simulations.The results show that the measure of decreasing drag is effective and pressure drag decreases about 4.7% and friction drag decreases about 4.9% at Ma0 =5.3;the additive drag can be turned into additive thrust and total drag decreases about 4.7% at Ma0 =5.3.Here,the collectivity performance is also improved.
