Adiabatic thermal transient behavior of tilted pads thrust bearing under abrupt load change was studied in this paper.The models of oil film and the dynamic parameters of the bearing parts were established,and solved by Newton-Raphson methods because of large cpu consumption and nonlinear oil film force.The responses of the bearing kinetic parameters were acquired.The changes of highest film temperature,minimum film thickness and other parameters of oil film were presented during the transient period.The results indicate that the bearing may be damaged if the design parameters are not properly selected.
