Study on generalized exergy efficiency of gas turbine based on work potential

  • The analytical formula about gas turbine components' generalized exergy efficiencies was derived by using the intrinsic physical meaning of generalized exergy. The relationships were validated in theoretical analysis and numerical calculation based on the criterion that all kinds of efficiencies must be matched simultaneously. The influences of various parameters on the generalized exergy efficiencies were discussed. The results show that the generalized exergy efficiencies are not only closely related with the component efficiencies,but also logically related with other thermodynamic parameters such as pressure ratio. The compressor pressure ratio was optimized by transferring the stored work potential contained in fuel into generalized exergy.
