Simulation on the scavenging process of the opposite two-stroke diesel engine

  • According to the flow characteristics of the opposite two-stroke diesel engine,the suitable flow control equations and turbulence model were chosen to model the high swirl and turbulent flow.The unsteady computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulation models were developed to simulate the scavenging process under the rated condition.The scavenging efficiency was calculated and the detailed flow fields were analyzed.Results show that a 94% scavenging efficiency can be achieved with the turbocharging uniflow scavenging method.
