Momentum characteristic of dielectric barrier discharge plasma aerodynamic actuation

  • Momentum characteristic of dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuation was studied from induced airflow velocity and body force.The former one under different actuation parameters was measured and analyzed,and the latter one was compared by the measured and calculated values to consider the variable regular and key factors for body force.Results show that the reference velocity can be enhanced by plasma actuation,but the acceleration effect is weakened with the rise of incoming velocity;the body force values increase linearly with the rise of actuation voltage or frequency,but increase more with the former one;increasing low-layer electrode width can enhance body force better than inner electrode distance.
